Health advice for Thailand
In Thailand, there is a risk of mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue fever, Japanese encephalitis, and malaria. To reduce the risk:
Use insect repellent
Sleep under insecticide-treated mosquito nets in risk areas
Wear long-sleeved clothing in the evenings
Gastrointestinal infections are common, especially at simple food stalls. Wash your hands frequently, avoid raw or undercooked food, and drink bottled water.
Important things to keep in mind
In addition to vaccinations and mosquito protection, remember to:
Travel pharmacy: Bring any essential medications from home
Insurance: Check that your health and travel insurance provides coverage abroad
Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs (UD): Read the latest travel advice on Sweden Abroad
Local healthcare: Find out where to seek medical care if needed during your trip
Before your visit, you’ll need to fill in a health declaration - either digitally or on-site. If you’re vaccinating a child, don’t forget to bring the consent form.
